Experience the spectacular views, scenery, sights and sounds of Jamaica

Echoes Jamaica - The ideal place from which to explore Jamaica, or just the place to enjoy a relaxing holiday

See the real Jamaica

Staying at Echoes Jamaica, you can enjoy peace and tranquility, and relax.

Located near Ocho Rios on Jamaica's north coast, Echoes Jamaica makes the ideal place base from which to explore the island.

Echoes Jamaica is family friendly with plenty to keep children entertained.

For information about prices for accommodation see  Rates Page.

We offer you the options of accommodation only, bed and breakfast, and meals service.

From here  you can visit every one of Jamaica's 14 parishes enjoying the beaches, coastal scenery and spectacular mountain views.

You can combine relaxation with travel around the island and appreciate at first hand the sights, sounds and people of Jamaica.

You can go off the beaten track, away from the cruise ships and resorts  and see the 'real' Jamaica.

Ocho Rios has supermarkets, shopping malls and craft markets and the world famous Dunns River Falls.

If you choose to travel around the island you can experience reasonably-priced and unusual accommodation. This could include a palm-thatched wooden cabin by the sea at Treasure Beach, eco-friendly seaside cabins in Portland or a fantasy castle in Negril.

Traveling around Jamaica provides you with the opportunity to experience the authentic taste of Jamaican 'jerk' cooking and to enjoy Jamaican cooking and hospitality at roadside stalls and local restaurants, washed down with fresh fruit juice or ice cold Red Stripe beer.

Climate

One of Jamaica's greatest attractions is it's climate. Temperatures around the coast are usually between 80 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit.  Humidity is relatively high throughout the year. A welcoming gentle breeze usually blows.

The average annual amount of rainfall is 76 inches, though there are wide variations across the island. Parts of the north east coast and the Blue Mountains can receive considerably more rainfall. Parts of the south coast receive very little rain and often experience drought.

Although there is a 'rainy season' from June to November, short, heavy showers can happen at any time of the year.

Jamaica's climate explains it's ecology and environment. Variations in terrain, patterns of human settlement, flora and fauna can be explained by the climate.

Jamaica

Jamaica, the third largest island in the Caribbean, is a country of extraordinary beauty with a distinctive and vibrant culture. It has white sandy beaches, turquoise sea, cascading waterfalls, exotically coloured flowers and swaying palm trees. Yet Jamaica is much more than just a holiday destination.

Jamaica is a developing country and the impact on its towns, villages and people is easy to see. Yet, this small island has produced one of the world's great musical forms, reggae, which reverberates throughout the island producing a musical backdrop to complement it's physical attributes .

A holiday in Jamaica, venturing away from the resorts is an enthralling and illuminating experience.

What visitors have said:

"I expected to see Jamaica, get a feeling for the culture, learn a bit about the history, see some panoramic scenery, soak up the rays, and try the cuisine. I did all of these and it was great."

"What is offered is what you get."

We can take photographs of your group/family during your holiday and provide you with a CD-rom to take home with you.
